Experience Modernization Team (XMT) Product Owner

About the role

The Experience Modernization Team (XMT) Product Owner (PO) defines and delivers NexGen Air and Missile Defense Product Solutions, operating at the intersection of user research, design, and mission context. The ideal candidate bridges technical execution and program strategy, driving the suitability of experimental capabilities for implementation into the IBCS program. The PO prioritizes and validates efforts executed within a Program Increment (PI) and must understand engineering practices within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), user research, and UX/UI design. Experience leading user-centered design practices—including design of experiments, collection methods, and post-analysis—is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize user research, studies, and suitability evaluations in coordination with Program Management for PIs and sprints.
• Deliver technical briefings and demonstrations to leadership, offering Courses of Action (COAs) and impact analysis.
• Assist with the technical roadmap for implementation and integration of efforts based on maturity and suitability of design.
• Serve as a bridge between PAE Fires stakeholders, users, and the experience modernization team.
• Communicate with leadership when products are ready to push into the development process.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics.
• Minimum of 10 years combined Government/DoD experience performing the essential duties listed above.
• Fluency in the Microsoft Office toolset.
• Strong understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), user research, and UX/UI design.
