Experience Modernization Team (XMT) Product Owner

About the role

The Experience Modernization Team (XMT) Product Owner (PO) will operate at the intersection of user research, design, and mission context to ensure the right solutions are built for NexGen Air and Missile Defense Product Solutions. The ideal candidate will bridge technical execution and program strategy, driving the suitability of experimental capabilities for implementation into the IBCS program. The PO will prioritize and validate efforts executed within a Program Increment (PI) and must have a strong understanding of engineering practices within Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), user research, and UX/UI design.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize user research, studies, and suitability evaluations in coordination with Program Management for PIs and sprints.
• Deliver technical briefings and demonstrations to leadership, offering Courses of Action (COAs) and impact analysis.
• Assist with the technical roadmap for implementation and integration of efforts based on maturity and suitability of design.
• Serve as a bridge between PAE Fires stakeholders, users, and the experience modernization team.
• Communicate with leadership when products are ready to push into the development process.
• Lead user-centered design practices, including design of experiments, collection methods, and post-analysis.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics.
• Minimum of 10 years combined Government/DoD experience performing the essential duties listed above.
• Proficiency with the Atlassian toolset (Jira/Confluence) for backlog management and Microsoft Office for professional deliverables.
• Current Active DoD Clearance.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Microsoft Office toolset.
• Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Knowledge of IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS is a plus.
• Prior Product Owner experience on a software development SCRUM team is a plus.
• Experience leading user-centered design practices, including design of experiments, collection methods, and post-analysis.
