This clinical position is responsible for providing mental health counseling services (remote and face-to-face) and supervision to other clinical staff for practicum, internship, or licensure as qualifications allow. Services include therapy, assessment/screening, and crisis response, as well as training, programming, and marketing related to campus mental health.

Responsibilities

  • Provides short-term individual counseling for student mental health, personal, and educational concerns, addressing stress, coping skills, and academic progress/retention.
  • Delivers crisis intervention, including short-term crisis therapy and assessment for inpatient care or safety planning.
  • Trains faculty and staff on mental health issues and delivers presentations on student mental health and related topics.
  • Assists with Behavioral Intervention Team efforts and serves on divisional and university committees.
  • Coordinates marketing and prevention programming efforts.
  • Performs drug and alcohol assessments as part of the student conduct process.
  • Conducts LPC counselor supervision and/or practicum/intern supervision in accordance with regulations.
  • Assists with assessment, report writing, and day-to-day clinical services operations.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Licensed Professional Counseling guidelines, standards, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of best practices in crisis intervention and behavioral assessment standards.
  • Skill in operating computers and job-related software, decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal relations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • On-call and after-hours availability required.
  • Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., counseling, social work).
  • Three to five years of related experience.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification.
  • LPC/LCSW Supervisor Certification.

Supervisory Responsibilities

May supervise undergraduate/graduate practicum students, interns, or candidates for licensure, depending on qualifications and certifications.

Work Environment

  • Typically performed in an office setting with intermittent sitting, standing, bending, or reaching.
  • Frequent lifting of light objects.

Pay

Annual salary of $50,976.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
