About the role
The Enterostomal Therapy nurse provides acute and rehabilitative care for patients with select disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integumentary systems. Decisions involve the interpretation of general policies/procedures/instructions and formulation of methods and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Promotes patient safety using the nursing process in regards to ostomy, wound and skin care.
- Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Requirements
- Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing or above required, Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.
- Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
- Experience: 4 years acute care nursing experience.
- Certifications: American Heart Association BLS.
Qualifications
- Preferred Education: Preferred graduate of an 8-week accredited school of Enterostomal Therapy.
- Preferred Licensure: Preferred.
- Preferred Experience: Preferred.
- Preferred Certifications: Preferred certification as Enterostomal Therapist by the WOCN (Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing).
