WORKSTATION TECHNICIAN

About the role

This is a 12-month contract position for a Workstation Technician at Mayo Clinic, located onsite in La Crosse, WI. The role involves collaborating with Workstation Support Services business units to ensure hardware and software orders are received, configured, scheduled, and installed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure equipment is labeled according to Mayo specifications.
• Research, verify, and document device specifications according to purchase order and Mayo standards.
• Work in conjunction with service and business units to relocate equipment as requested by departments.
• Provide on-site installation, customer service, and technical installation and/or repairs support per department or individual customer requests.
• Serve as technical and equipment liaison in the field as needed to collaborate with other support services.
• Assist with end-user training as needed and explain basic concepts and procedures to a large and diverse customer base.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment necessary to complete installations or repair requests.
• Evaluate and process equipment according to IT Security policy and guidelines.

Requirements

• Two years of customer service experience.
• Good organizational skills and written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information and exhibit good customer service skills.
• Understanding of computer-related terminology to provide evaluation of customer requests and match needs with appropriate IT solutions.
• Ability to tolerate bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and working with arms above shoulder level.
• Ability to lift seventy-five pounds or more.
• Ability to distinguish colors.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Two years of customer service experience supporting computers, or an Associate's degree, or two years of Technical School training in Computers, Technology, Electronics, or a related field.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Schedule

This is a fully onsite position in La Crosse, WI, and may require overtime and on-call participation.
