Position Overview: We are seeking an entry-level Workstation Technician to join our internal IT team in Framingham. This role handles laptop setup, deployment, and first-line support for Harbor IT employees. You are the first point of contact for new hires on day one, when they log into their laptop and SaaS accounts for the first time, so the work combines hands-on technical setup with internal customer service. It is a strong entry point for a recent technical-program graduate or a self-taught PC builder who wants to break into a national MSP and grow a career in IT.
Responsibilities
- Set up new laptops for incoming employees using imaging tools such as Microsoft Intune or equivalent
- Deploy software packages through ImmyBot
- Replace aging laptops across the existing employee fleet
- Receive laptop orders and confirm inventory against purchase records
- Ship configured devices to new and existing employees
- Process laptop returns from offboarded employees, including wipe and retirement
- Provide first-line laptop support to internal employees
- Guide new hires through first-time login to their laptop and SaaS accounts on day one
