About the role

Pylon is the only agentic support platform purpose‑built for B2B companies, enabling humans and AI agents to collaborate on customer work across every channel. Backed by a16z, BCV, General Catalyst, and Y Combinator, Pylon powers support and customer success workflows for over 1,500 companies including Linear, Cognition (makers of Devin), Modal Labs, and Incident.io, and is featured on the Enterprise Tech 30 List. This role reports to the Founding Recruiter. It is a temporary position with potential to convert to a permanent, full‑time role; the hired individual will be employed by Pylon’s staffing agency partner, work on‑site at the NYC office, and be fully integrated into the team, while payroll, benefits, and employment terms are handled by the agency.

Responsibilities

  • Own day‑to‑day office operations: supply orders, vendor management, deliveries, facilities requests, storage, and keeping the space clean and presentable before anyone has to ask.
  • Delegate, automate, and streamline tasks to prevent backlog.
  • Own the office move: plan and execute the relocation to the new NY office in November, ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Act as Chief Fun Officer (NY edition): plan events, socials, and in‑office celebrations, tying them to team accomplishments.
  • Manage talent’s first impression: set up workspaces for new hires, coordinate room logistics for candidate onsites, support recruiting with calendar management, candidate communication, and day‑of logistics.
  • Own the office philosophy: go beyond checklists to determine what “keeping this office running like it matters” truly requires each day.
  • Flex into ad‑hoc operational projects as the office and team grow.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in an office or workplace environment (office coordinator, workplace ops, community associate, or similar).
  • Experience helping run an office move from planning through move‑in is a plus.
  • Based in New York and able to be in‑office 3 days per week.

Skills

  • Comfortable managing vendors and furniture logistics: obtaining quotes, placing orders, and following through to completion.
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle competing priorities without letting anything slip.
  • Strong communicator, often the first and last touchpoint for candidates, new hires, and visitors.
  • Scrappy and resourceful: finds a way to get things done rather than focusing on obstacles.

Schedule
