Workforce Housing Manager

About the Role

This position oversees all aspects of workforce housing for Palisades Tahoe, including the management of existing units and strategic collaboration with stakeholders to identify new housing opportunities. Workforce housing consists of onsite and offsite "owned" properties and a variety of master leases, currently totaling up to 235 beds. This role supports hundreds of employees in securing housing, making a positive impact for one of the largest employers in the North Lake Tahoe and Truckee community.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and explore feasible workforce housing opportunities, including property acquisition, master leases, partnerships, and development.
  • Develop strategy and planning for optimal employee placement based on cost, community, transportation access, and amenities.
  • Create methods to assess and understand housing needs for both the resort and individuals, ensuring up-to-date and accurate information.
  • Regularly evaluate and coordinate property management needs, including cleaning, maintenance, and on-site meetings/visits.
  • Assist with capital projects management, including budgeting, purchasing, and contractor relations.
  • Maintain up-to-date tracking of room/unit inventory to ensure timely and well-matched housing assignments.
  • Ensure all applicant and tenant processes are completed accurately and timely, including applications, background checks, license agreements, deposits, and rents.
  • Oversee and coordinate move-in/out procedures and day-to-day tenant interactions.
  • Communicate with tenants regarding rent collection, inspections, facility maintenance, cleaning, and disciplinary notices.
  • Partner with internal departments such as department managers, legal, HR, building maintenance, and housekeeping to resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with property owners and property management companies.
  • Oversee property contract negotiations and keep all housing/lease agreements up to date.
  • Partner closely with the HR team to provide excellent support and service to team members.
  • Lead a team of three, including on- and off-site maintenance and administrative staff.

  • High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
  • Experience in the ski resort industry, workforce housing, lodging, and/or hospitality preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear.
  • Sits for extended periods at a computer station or work desk; stands and walks regularly throughout the day.
  • Uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours each day.
  • Lifts up to 10 pounds regularly.
  • Exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

  • May be exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.

A Motor Vehicle Record review may be required as part of the job.

Pay

Base salary range: $70,304 - $89,852 per year. The range represents the low and high end of the salary for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and travel. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and region-specific benefits.
