Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall management and day-to-day operations of assigned independent living facilities, including resident care and recreation services.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies such as HUD, LIHTC, NSPIRE, and other applicable laws and organizational standards.
- Maintain or enhance resident independence and satisfaction through effective approaches and services.
- Keep accurate and complete records of all functions within your span of authority; prepare and submit required reports.
- Develop and maintain accurate data on facility and resident needs.
- Oversee resident transportation services.
- Respond to resident emergencies and building concerns.
- Manage the calendar of social programs for residents and attend as needed.
- Address concerns raised by residents, family members, visitors, and the Resident Council.
- Handle all financial matters of the facility, including budget development and maintenance, capital needs, and contract labor.
- Maintain systems to safeguard facility assets, ensuring reliable financial records and reports.
- Oversee petty cash funds and assigned operating accounts.
- Assist with marketing activities to maintain high occupancy rates.
- Oversee maintenance and repair of facility operations, including light routine maintenance (e.g., changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, garbage removal).
- Review deficiencies from inspections or audits, develop correction plans, and submit written reports to authorities.
- Administer human resource functions, including recruitment, hiring, training, conflict resolution, counseling, disciplining, and termination.
- Supervise employees, ensure adequate staffing, and maintain consistency in service delivery.
- Administer a Safety Program to ensure compliance with safety regulations (e.g., fire protection, accident prevention, infection control) and maintain buildings and grounds in good repair.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university, or equivalent education/training and/or experience in property management.
- 5 years of management experience.
- If managing a HUD property, recognized certification as a Property Manager and/or Occupancy Specialist (or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration.
- 1 year of experience in rental property and/or senior housing management.
