Workers' Compensation Attorney position in Los Angeles or Newport Beach, CA.

About the role

We are a dynamic California employees’ rights law firm with a strong reputation for representing workers who have suffered on-the-job injuries, denied benefits, or inadequate settlements. Based in Los Angeles and serving clients statewide, we combine deep litigation capabilities with a commitment to advocating for the under-represented. Our employment and workers’ compensation practices operate with strong teamwork—attorneys are supported by case managers, hearing representatives, and legal assistants, allowing you to focus on substantive legal work.

Responsibilities

  • Represent injured workers in California workers’ compensation matters from intake through hearings and settlements.
  • Handle all phases of litigation: drafting pleadings, attending hearings, taking depositions, negotiating settlements, collaborating with case managers and assistants.
  • Develop case strategies, manage discovery and work-ups, interact with expert witnesses and opposing counsel.
  • Build client relationships, maintain communication, and deliver high-quality advocacy for clients navigating complex and stressful systems.
  • Work alongside a team of case managers and hearing representatives to ensure efficient handling of files and optimal client outcomes.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active membership in the California Bar.
  • Significant experience in California workers’ compensation litigation—ideally at least 3-8 years of running WC files, hearings, and settlements on behalf of plaintiffs.
  • Proven advocacy skills before WCAB or related forums; comfort with hearings, expert testimony, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
  • Ability to manage a docket, collaborate with support staff (paralegals, hearing reps, case managers), and meet deadlines in a busy litigation environment.
  • Strong writing, negotiation, research, and client-service skills.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Covered parking.
  • Discretionary year-end bonus.

Pay

$130,000 - $200,000 per year.
