Woodyard Operations Coordinator
About the role
This position provides support to the woodyard operations key result areas of safety, quality, productivity, and cost. Responsibilities include direct oversight of morning reports, safety meetings, coordination of maintenance, implementation of capital projects, and upkeep of computer systems. The role also fills the Pulp/Woodyard Manager’s Weekend Duty position on a routine basis. Due to the semi-autonomous nature of the Woodyard, this supervisor is typically on call 3 nights per week. Additional duties include payroll approval for hourly staff and support to the Forestry Department on deliveries and issues that arise.
Responsibilities
- Support woodyard operations in safety, quality, productivity, and cost
- Prepare and oversee morning reports
- Conduct safety meetings
- Coordinate maintenance activities
- Implement capital projects
- Maintain and update computer systems
- Serve as Pulp/Woodyard Manager on weekends (rotating duty)
- Approve payroll for hourly staff
- Assist Forestry Department with deliveries and issue resolution
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of the TABE, CRC, or Nowlin Test
- Post-secondary studies in a technical discipline preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience
- Familiarity with woodyard operations is a plus
