Wireless Engineer
TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Wireless Engineer to support various grid modernization projects in the Philadelphia market, including PLTE, Microwave upgrades, and LMR expansions.
About the role
This contract-to-hire position will focus on MESH and Microwave equipment across the deployment lifecycle. The role involves a mix of hands-on execution and coordination with cross-functional teams (PMO, OPCO Engineers, OEM vendors) to drive projects forward. Daily responsibilities may vary based on the candidate's expertise but will include design, backhaul, site surveys, BOMs, quality control, and documentation.
This hybrid role requires in-office/field work Tuesday through Thursday and remote work Monday and Friday. While the address states MOB, there is flexibility in the reporting office location, ideally within the Philadelphia market or surrounding OPCOs.
Responsibilities
- Perform design, site walks, vendor management, and quality control across the wireless lifecycle (LMR, Microwave, LTE).
- Support MESH and Microwave equipment deployment, including backhaul, site surveys, BOMs, and documentation.
- Collaborate with lead engineers and vendors to implement best practices.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (PMO, OPCO Engineers, OEM vendors) to advance projects.
- Provide RAN support across multiple projects based on experience and specialty.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Wireless Engineering experience with LMR, Microwave, or LTE.
- Hands-on field experience combined with strong functional aptitude.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
- BS degree highly desired, or equivalent relevant work experience.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00 per hour. Individual compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.

Schedule
Hybrid schedule: Monday and Friday remote; Tuesday through Thursday in-office/field in the Philadelphia area.
