About the role
Inspect and troubleshoot all surface mining equipment on the job site. Perform preventive maintenance and catastrophic failure repair. Fuel and grease equipment when required. Keep records of work performed. Furnish your own tools.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and troubleshoot large surface mining diesel equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and catastrophic failure repairs
- Fuel and grease equipment as required
- Maintain accurate records of work performed
- Coordinate and communicate with co-workers and supervisors
- Follow Company, State, and Federal regulations, plans, and policies
- Adhere to high safety standards for self and others; wear required personal protective equipment
- Read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets
- Work any assigned shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays at all Wild Boar Complex locations
Requirements
- 3 or more years of experience repairing and troubleshooting large surface mining diesel equipment
- Welding experience is desired
- Basic math skills
- Ability to operate power tools and hand tools
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or GED
- Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles
- Ability to work from elevated positions, climb stairs/steps, and climb on/off equipment and ladders
- Ability to lift/raise 10–50 lbs. without mechanical assistance frequently during the work shift
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle)
- Rapid reflex movements of the arms and legs and good hand-to-eye coordination
- Ability to work in extreme conditions, including changing weather, dust, mud, varying noise levels, varying light conditions, and confined work areas
- Ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as mandated by Company and MSHA
