About the role

We are looking for two enthusiastic educators to join our team as Generalist Clinical Mentors. The role involves 4 educational sessions of face-to-face teaching/preparation and 2 sessions of clinical general practice in a Fife GP practice. The role will focus on year one of the ScotGEM programme in the first instance, with the potential to progress into year two, following the student group.

Teaching follows a case-based approach, with students experiencing 2 sessions in primary care, including patient exposure. Full training prior to delivery will be supported by the current team.

One post is permanent (0.4 WTE, Associate Adviser Scale for academic sessions), and the other is temporary until 16th June 2028 (0.2 WTE, GP Salaried Scale for clinical sessions).

Responsibilities

• Deliver face-to-face teaching and preparation sessions for graduate-entry medical students.
• Conduct clinical general practice sessions in a Fife GP practice.
• Teach using a case-based approach with patient exposure in primary care settings.
• Support and mentor students in year one of the ScotGEM programme, with potential progression to year two.

Requirements

• Qualified GP with an interest in medical education.
• Early-career GPs (first 5 years) are welcome to apply.
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship may be available for eligible candidates).

Pay

Pro-rata salary based on:

• Associate Adviser Scale for academic sessions (0.4 WTE).
• GP Salaried Scale for clinical sessions (0.2 WTE).
