About the role

The Budtender is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience by providing personalized cannabis recommendations, product education, and outstanding customer service. This role supports the day-to-day operations of the dispensary by assisting guests, processing transactions, maintaining compliance with Florida cannabis regulations, and contributing to a welcoming, efficient, and professional retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, listen to their needs, and make personalized recommendations.
• Explain the differences between cannabis types (like flower, edibles, or concentrates) and how to use them safely.
• Check IDs to verify legal age, adhere to purchase limits, and follow state and local laws.
• Process transactions using a Point-of-Sale (POS) system and handle cash accurately.
• Help with daily cleaning, stock shelves, and keep an accurate inventory of products.

What success looks like

• Improving personal Average Order Value (AOV) month over month
• Improving personal Units Per Transaction (UPT) month over month
• Improving average daily sales month over month

Requirements

• 6+ months in the cannabis industry
• Cash handling experience
• Customer service experience
• Product knowledge (preferred but not required)
• Must be 21+

Physical requirements

• Sitting, standing, walking, and climbing for long periods of time.

Work environment

• The environment can be loud.
• Fast-paced and energetic atmosphere with specialized product displays (flower, edibles, concentrates).
• Staff must be adaptable to busy rushes, as wait times and long lines are common during peak hours.

Pay

$15.50/hr plus tips (tips are yours to keep; no tip pool).
