Join the HII Mission Technologies – Our Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) works on the only shipyard to execute the RCOH of aircraft carriers halfway through a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier’s 50-year service. The mid-life RCOH includes refueling of nuclear reactors, overhauling most machinery, and modernizing warfare systems. Essential Job Responsibilities
- Welders may work directly with customer or customer representatives, attend meetings and deploy for special projects.
- Ability to manage, oversee, schedule and assign tasks to one or more multiple jobs.
- Installs piping and structural components utilizing various welding processes, operate, maintain, repair and modify equipment.
- Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, and/or at field locations.
- Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time.
- Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change.
- Maintains effective customer communications and relations.
- May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 2- 6 years of related experience. Prefer technical/professional certifications.
- Candidate must be able to qualify SMAW & GTAW (Stick/Tig) in all processes of carbon and stainless steel (Pipe and Structural) welding.
- Candidate must be able to pass general and specific knowledge exam on welder workmanship.
- Candidate must be able to recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
- Candidate must be able to accurately fit-up, install and weld structural and piping components.
- Candidate must be able to communicate verbally and electronically, follow detailed instructions, and be self-motivated.
- Candidate must have the ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedure appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- Candidate must be able to interpret blueprints, drawings and/or specifications to fabricated and/or weld install structural and piping systems.
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance.
- Candidate must be able to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date and maintain credentials throughout employment.
- Candidate must be able to provide hand tools per trades designation.
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
