Responsibilities

• Position, align, fit, and weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to design drawing tolerances and specifications.
• Select torch, torch tip, filler rod and flux, according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of metal.
• Connect regulator valves and hoses to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders, and welding torch.
• Turn regulator valves to activate flow of gases, light torch and adjust gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame.
• Hold torch at proper angle to metal and guide along weld joint, apply filler rod to molten area to form weld.
• Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Repair broken or cracked metal objects, fill holes, and build up metal parts.
• Lay out, position, and tack weld workpieces.
• Weld along vertical or overhead weld lines.
• Cleanse or degrease parts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent required.
• A welding certificate preferred.
• The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• The ability to read blueprints and read measuring equipment.

Pay

Total pay is $28.75. Starting rate is $27.75 with a $1.00 shift differential. This position is for our 3rd shift (10pm-6am, Monday-Friday).
