Welcome Zone Assistant
What will you be doing?
- Providing a friendly, welcoming and inclusive reception service to all building users and visitors
- Responding accurately and appropriately to a wide range of enquiries from lots of different stakeholders, using initiative and systems to find the answers
- Recording and reviewing enquiries and feedback, spotting trends, analysing data, assisting with reports and helping to improve services and processes
- Supporting the building operations by assisting with building safety and compliance tests (i.e. fire alarm testing), emergency evacuations, cleanliness checks, monitoring and reporting equipment and maintenance faults
- Visitor and contractor signing in, directing, issuing keys and access passes
- General administration tasks including ordering supplies, maintaining records, overseeing and approving room bookings
- Supporting major University events such as Welcome Week, Open Days and conferences
Requirements
You have experience of providing a high standard of customer service in a front line role
You enjoy working with people, both as customers and as part of a team
You’re a natural problem solver who can use initiative and good judgement to handle non-routine enquiries and unexpected challenges
You thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment and can stay calm and positive when juggling multiple tasks
You can exercise empathy and sensitivity when required and have previous experience of doing so, sometimes in challenging situations
You have excellent attention to detail, take pride in your work and complete tasks accurately and efficiently
You’d enjoy the challenge of working in a new building, campus and team and contributing to shaping the operation and continuous improvements
