DARCARS of Silver Spring is seeking an Automotive Service Cashier / Concierge to serve as the front-line representative for the service department. You will greet customers, direct them to the appropriate party, and handle incoming calls with professionalism and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and determine the nature of their visit.
• Direct customers to the correct department.
• Answer basic customer inquiries and refer more extensive inquiries to the appropriate person.
• Enter data into a computer-operated prospect tracking system.
• Manage the switchboard, communicating with callers in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner while minimizing hold time.
• Take thorough messages, including the caller’s first and last name, company name (if applicable), time, and message content.
• Communicate messages to all appropriate parties in a timely manner.
• Provide basic information to callers with general inquiries.
• Update and distribute the company telephone roster as needed.
• Perform clerical and accounting duties as assigned by the controller or General Service Manager.
• Prepare transaction receipts for the sale or service department, if applicable.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Ability to speak clearly and pleasantly on the telephone, conveying professionalism and competence.
• Strong communication skills with both customers and employees.
• Ability to speak multiple languages (Spanish is a plus).
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
• Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers.
• Previous customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a team player.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Must pass a pre-employment screening (background check, including criminal history, review of consumer and motor vehicle records, and verification of SSN).
