About the role
The City of Hampton is hiring for the position of Water Treatment Plant Operator (Class III or higher).
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain water treatment plant equipment.
- Monitor water quality parameters and adjust processes accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment.
- Handle emergencies and respond to alarms as needed.
Requirements
- Certified Georgia Water Operators license (or comparable experience).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Georgia driver's license.
Qualifications
- Experience in water treatment operations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
Skills
- Knowledge of water treatment processes.
- Proficiency with water treatment equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret water quality data.
