Water Treatment Plant Operator III, II, I

About the role

This position is responsible for participating in the operation of a water treatment plant. An incumbent in this position may be designated “Class III Operator,” “Class II Operator,” or “Class I Operator.”

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water treatment equipment and systems.
• Monitor and adjust water quality parameters to ensure compliance with standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment.
• Document operational activities and water quality data.
• Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least 2 years of experience operating a water treatment plant.
• Knowledge of water treatment processes and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience with water treatment equipment and systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Good communication skills to interact with customers and co-workers.

Skills

• Proficiency in computer software related to water treatment operations.
• Basic knowledge of chemistry and physics.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment.
