Water Tank Inspector

Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform inspection of existing water storage tanks
  • Perform daily construction management and inspection services for new construction of water storage tanks
  • Inspect various types of tanks including elevated, ground, hydro pneumatic, steel, and concrete tanks
  • Assist with writing reports on tank condition inspections
  • Inspect welds and assist with coating application inspections
  • Assist with concrete inspections
  • Perform construction management tasks
  • Communicate with the Owner and Owner's operational and field staff
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports on work accomplished by contractors
  • Review periodic pay estimates for accuracy with contractors
  • Prepare sketches and assemble data for engineers
  • Keep diaries and make reports on work accomplished and/or noted deficiencies
  • Communicate effectively with all parties involved in the project

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or State Equivalency Certificate
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Basic computer skills (Word & Excel)
  • Flexible and able to work in a team environment and/or independently
  • Capable of climbing ladders, working at heights on scaffolding, and entering confined spaces
  • Tank and coating inspection experience
  • Proven work ethic and willingness to learn and complete training provided

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in a field related to engineering, technology, or construction, or other related advanced certificate
  • NACE/AMPP certification or willingness to work toward certification

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks in the field
  • Walking and navigating across rough or uneven terrain
  • Moving around active project sites
  • Climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles
  • Bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing
  • Remaining in a stationary position—either standing or sitting—for extended periods of time
  • Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds and/or carting objects up to 50 lbs
  • Driving to and from project sites
