About the role

Pennoni Associates is currently seeking a Construction Inspector. This position is available to be based out of any of Pennoni's Maryland/Washington metro area offices for work located in Baltimore, Annapolis, Howard County, Prince George's County and Montgomery County.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect assigned water & sewer lines to ensure compliance with municipal requirements, specifications, and contracts.
  • Inspect utility & related construction projects for compliance with plans, specifications, and standards.
  • Provide documentation of project work activity, equipment utilized, and manpower for projects.
  • Measure and record completed work.
  • Conduct walk-through visits to inspect completed and in-progress work sites.
  • Provides relevant information to Developers, Contractors, and/or other interested parties (when authorized to do so).
  • Work construction hours (which may include overtime) and in inclement weather.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience working in field-based construction inspection.
  • A Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of an Associate degree (or higher) in an Engineering-oriented or Construction Management field of study.
  • Experience working with water, wastewater / sewage, and/or stormwater resources.
  • Experience with Traffic Control.
  • Holds current MARTCP, ACI, WACEL, or NICET certifications.
  • Knowledge of WSSC standards.
  • Knowledge of Maryland State Highway Administration standards.
  • Knowledge of Prince George’s and Montgomery County standards.
  • Experience with paving projects, site grading, and Erosion & Sediment Control.

Skills

  • Use of standard computer software (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Use of iPads and Laptops.

Pay

Target Pay Range: $28 - $43 (per hour)

Schedule

Construction hours (which may include overtime) and in inclement weather.
