PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Perform constructability and plan reviews prior to construction.
  • Interact with the design engineer with input before the project goes out to bid.
  • Perform construction management services for projects that consist of water supply and sanitary distribution systems, including work in water and wastewater plants.
  • Ensure the job site is maintained in a safe, neat, and orderly fashion by the contractor.
  • Provide inspection of contractors' work to ensure that the work is being performed as per plans and specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate with the project manager daily about the progress on the project.
  • Attend and run pre-construction & weekly progress meetings with the client and contractor and give input on issues that arise during construction.
  • Follow through with RFIs to maintain the project runs as scheduled and communicate with Engineering Team.
  • Conduct on-site observations of the work in progress to assist Engineer in determining if the Work is proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents, both alone and/or as part of a team.
  • Keep a diary or logbook of all observations and daily activities for ongoing work and provide Engineer with daily reports to include all labor trades and equipment supplied by Contractor.
  • Prepare a final punch list at substantial completion and perform final project review for project closeout.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated experience in water/wastewater inspections.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work with others and the public.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and focused, with good attention to detail.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of construction observation or construction experience directly related to one of the following disciplines: water supply and distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection, and water / wastewater treatment systems, and roadway construction.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and Microsoft outlook.

Certifications/Licenses Required

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • NICET Certification a plus.
  • Traffic Control Coordinator.
  • Work Zone Safety.
