About the role
The Water Resources Department Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the water resources department in multiple locations across Indiana. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of water resources, including planning, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the water resources department in South Bend, Fort Wayne, Mishawaka, and Merrillville, Indiana.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the long-term sustainability of water resources.
- Manage budgets and financial resources to support departmental goals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and laws.
- Collaborate with other departments to address water-related issues and improve overall community health.
- Lead and mentor a team of professionals to achieve departmental objectives.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in water resources management or a related field.
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing teams.
- Strong knowledge of water resource management practices and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of GIS and data analysis tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
