About the role

The Water Resources Department Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the water resources department across multiple locations in South Bend, Fort Wayne, Mishawaka, and Merrillville, Indiana. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of water resources, including planning, budgeting, and implementing policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the water resources department to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Develop and implement water resource management plans that address current and future needs.
  • Manage budgets and financial resources to support departmental operations and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate efforts related to water resource management.
  • Lead team meetings and provide regular updates on departmental activities and progress.
  • Ensure all departmental policies and procedures are up-to-date and aligned with best practices.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in water resources management or a related field.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing a team.
  • Strong knowledge of water resource management principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with GIS software and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance processes.
  • Experience with project management and stakeholder engagement.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
