About the role
The Water Resources Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the water resources department across multiple locations in South Bend, Fort Wayne, Mishawaka, and Merrillville, Indiana. This role requires strong leadership skills, expertise in water resource management, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of water treatment facilities and distribution systems.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve water quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with local government agencies and community partners to address water-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
- Manage a team of water resource professionals and technicians.
- Prepare and present reports on departmental activities and financial status.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in water resources management or a related field.
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing teams.
- Knowledge of water treatment processes and distribution systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Experience with water quality monitoring and management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
