About the role
We are looking for an experienced Water Resources Engineer to help build and lead our team in Louisville, KY. This position could be based out of our Louisville, KY office or our Jeffersonville, IN office.
Department Leadership
- Leads, grows, and manages a team or teams, including engineers and technicians.
- Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Fosters a positive workplace culture and ensures professional growth and development of department team members.
- Guides the team to deliver high-quality results.
- Credits performance appraisals.
- Identifies staffing needs and actively participates in recruiting and hiring.
- Ensures effective resource allocation.
Project Management
- Ensures the department’s project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Plans, organizes, and directs department activities, including project management, design, and construction oversight.
- Serves as a project manager on various projects.
- Performs Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QC/QA) as needed.
Client and Stakeholder Relations
- Develops new client relationships and seeks out opportunities for new business.
- Maintains strong relationships with existing clients.
- Coordinates with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and specifications.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE).
- Demonstrated success in managing large and/or complex Water Resources engineering projects.
- Proficiency with relevant engineering software and tools for design and analysis.
- Demonstrated expertise in personnel management and leadership with a strong track record of guiding teams to deliver high-quality results.
- Strong client management capabilities with proven ability to develop and maintain new client relationships.
- Valid Driver's License (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrates comfort and confidence in identifying new business opportunities, engaging clients, and driving growth within the civil engineering sector.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Pay
Note: While the position typically requires 15 years of experience in water resources engineering, we are open to considering candidates with fewer years of experience if they possess the right skills and relevant working experience. We value practical expertise and are willing to assess qualifications on a case-by-case basis.
