About the role

The WWT Operator positions at WWT are responsible for operating and maintaining wastewater treatment facilities. The roles require adherence to safety protocols and compliance with environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment systems
• Monitor and adjust treatment processes to ensure effluent meets regulatory standards
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and facilities
• Respond to emergencies and incidents related to wastewater treatment
• Document operations and maintenance activities
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Train and mentor new employees as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in wastewater treatment principles and theory for WWT Operator IV
• Valid driver’s license
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Wastewater Operator Class certifications as specified for each position
• Biosolids/Residuals Operator’s Certification
• Efficiency in using computers and related software

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards advancement through Biological Wastewater progressions

• Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment principles and theory
• Ability to operate and maintain complex equipment
• Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
