Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (OIT, I, II, III)
Job Information
Open to any current regular Municipal employee working within the Health & Human Services Department. If the person selected is not affiliated with the Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA), he or she must become a member in good standing within 31 days of beginning work.

Hours of Work
- Monday - Thursday; 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Occasional Saturdays.
Example of Duties
- Confidential interviewing, education and counseling for clients to identify high-risk behaviors and need for reproductive health services.
- Perform screening tests as indicated, i.e. Blood pressure, weight/height, urine analysis, pregnancy testing, venipuncture and fingersticks for anemia status.
- Perform lab tests for the diagnosis and treatment.
- Provide education to clients on prevention and health maintenance activities.
- Assist in specialty clinics.
- Cookbook case management of clients identified with reportable sexually transmitted infections.
- Cook community education on reproductive health topics and provide referrals when appropriate.
- Collect statistical data and submit it in a monthly report of activities.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Three years of experience in applicable social programs
Notice
If selected for hire, appointment in this position will be conditional based upon satisfactory completion of a criminal background investigation (AS 12.62.160[10]). Accordingly it will be necessary for the selected applicant to provide certain identification information and be fingerprinted. Fingerprint cards must be dated within 30 days from date requested. The processing fee of $54.25 plus the cost of being fingerprinted (variable), is the responsibility of the selected applicant.
