Warranty Lab Technician

About the role

The Warranty Technician performs failure analysis on returned electronic products to identify root causes and system failures. This role involves troubleshooting circuit boards, documenting findings, and collaborating with quality and engineering teams to support corrective action initiatives and customer communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis of warranty return electronic products to identify system failures.
• Troubleshoot circuit boards and write reports for customers.
• Identify ways to test customer-reported issues and document the procedures.
• Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronics components using hand tools or soldering iron.
• Assist quality and engineering teams in providing customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or provide information on product use.
• Communicate findings to the Quality team and assist in developing corrective actions to prevent recurring failures.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
• 2 to 5 years’ experience reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions.
• 2 to 5 years’ experience testing electro-mechanical units using standard test equipment and analyzing results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment.
• Excellent soldering techniques with both through-hole and surface-mount technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret technical data.
• Must be able to work from moderately complex blueprints, inspection specifications, and verbal or written instructions with minimal supervision.
