Warehouse Supervisor, Second Shift

About the role
The Second Shift Warehouse Supervisor leads high-volume e-commerce fulfillment operations during the afternoon and evening shift. This role is responsible for driving productivity, order accuracy, and on-time shipment performance while promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with company safety policies. The Supervisor helps maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment and supports continuous improvement across all shift activities.
Schedule
Regular hours: 2:30 PM to 12:00 AM Monday through Friday
Flexibility required for weekends and holidays based on business demands.
Amended schedules during peak and holiday seasons, including extended hours and additional shifts to support increased order volume.
Responsibilities
- Supervise second shift fulfillment operations including picking, packing, sortation, and shipping in a high-volume environment.
- Drive performance against key metrics such as units per hour (UPH), order accuracy, on-time ship rate, and labor utilization.
- Ensure safe operation of powered industrial trucks and other motorized material handling equipment, including high-level order pickers, swing reach trucks, and ride-on pallet jacks.
- Conduct routine safety observations, hazard checks, and coaching to reinforce safe work practices.
- Lead incident reviews, near-miss reporting, and follow-up actions to help prevent recurrence.
- Monitor workflow and staffing to meet shipping deadlines while maintaining safe and efficient work practices.
- Train, coach, and develop associates on safety, standard work, and performance expectations.
- Partner with Safety, HR, and Operations leadership to support compliance, engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to training, inspections, performance, and safety reporting.
- Identify process gaps and support improvements that reduce errors, improve flow, and strengthen team performance.
Requirements
- 3+ years of warehouse or fulfillment experience, preferably in e-commerce or high-volume distribution
- 1+ year of supervisory or team lead experience in a metric-driven environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with WMS platforms, RF scanning, and motorized material handling equipment preferred
- Ability to balance productivity demands with a strong commitment to safety
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move continuously throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks
- Comfortable working extended hours during peak periods
