Responsibilities
- Receives all incoming freight and verifies its integrity.
- Performs local pickup of supply merchandise as necessary.
- Maintains warehouse in a neat and orderly manner.
- Distributes supplies to customers and picks up supplies from local suppliers as needed.
- Fills faxed requisitions on a daily basis.
- Ensures that all items requested have the correct item number, data entered, and charged to the correct customer.
- Performs monthly inventory audits and weekly audit verification at the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Restocks shelves from inbound freight.
- Fills requisitions from walk-in customers on a daily basis.
- Assists all customers with supply needs.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Conducts all transactions in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse environment.
- Responsible for being in compliance with all environmental laws and procedures to which Smithfield Hog Production subscribes.
- Reports all environmental issues immediately to their Supervisor.
- Reads and understands the company's emergency notification process and is responsible for reviewing that policy at their worksite.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
- Must be able to lift more than 80 lbs.
- Must have a valid Driver License with a sound driving record.
- Must have basic computer knowledge.
- Must have a basic concept and understanding of Microsoft Office Products (Word and Excel).
- Forklift and electric pallet jack usage.
