About the role

The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for having a thorough working knowledge of all Plant Material Control job functions and applicable department equipment and systems such as Forklift, Cambar, HK Systems, TTMS, AMAPS, MITS, AES. The role involves loading, unloading, case picking, barcoding, and palletizing operations, ensuring accurate documentation, following procedures, and maintaining compliance with GMP, Safety, and Quality guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Loading, unloading, case picking, barcoding, and palletizing operations
  • Performs all tasks safely, ensures accurate documentation, follows all procedures/guidelines, loads trailers to meet weight requirements, and performs tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Creates accurate and legible documentation, processes inbound pallets through the ASRS system, and efficiently handles receiving operations
  • Assures timely order release, accurate documentation, addresses people professionally, maintains databases with timely entries, and signs/dates BOLs by Common Carrier Drivers and Clerks during the shift
  • Communicates safety and GMP concerns to Plant Material Control/Columbus Distribution Center leadership and follows up to ensure concerns are addressed
  • Communicates via verbal and email with all parties of the business
  • Accountable for personal safety and adhering to safety guidelines
  • Able to make decisions based on awareness of area operations
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver objects of considerable weight (50 lbs)
  • Complies with applicable FDA (GMP), USDA, OSHA, and Abbott Nutritional Supply Chain regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, very good interpersonal skills, analytical troubleshooting skills, ability to multitask, and a very good team player
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • 6+ months prior job experience within the Plant Material Control/Columbus Distribution Center is preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Experience with tools and equipment related to the position is desired (hand tools, wearing of full body harness, sit-down forklift, stand up pick vehicle, computer knowledge/skills)

  • Forklift experience preferred
