Warehouse Specialist

About the role

The Warehouse Specialist supports air compressor and generator internal and external customers by handling all warehouse functions including shipping and receiving, inventory handling, and stocking of parts in the warehouse. This role also involves loading/unloading trucks and occasionally assisting customers with parts sales at the counter.

Responsibilities

• Ship and receive parts
• Aid in replenishing truck inventories
• Process parts transfers to other branches
• Stock, store, label, pick, pack, and distribute all parts and supplies
• Receive, check, and store delivered parts into the warehouse; perform inventory of warehouse parts
• Review invoices and ensure compliance with policies for proper receipt, storage, and distribution of parts
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment
• Follow safety rules and company policies and procedures
• Organize and control inventoried items

Requirements

• Computer literacy, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment for extended periods
• Must wear proper PPE (steel toed shoes)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must operate forklift vehicle
• Basic math skills for computing percentages, multipliers, sales tax, and totals on parts orders
• Knowledge of inventory control methods and procedures preferred
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, grasp, feel, and perform repetitive motions
• Ability to climb, balance, kneel, crawl, push, pull, and perform finger activities

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Acceptable motor vehicle record for insurability purposes
