Warehouse Operator (Must Have Material Handling, Manufacturing & Warehouse Exp)

Location: Andover, MA • Duration: 12 months • Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7 AM–3:30 PM with overtime as needed • Pay: $16–20/hr

About the role

Occasional use of equipment such as handcarts and pallet jacks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products within a plant, office, or warehouse. Develops skills in basic tasks, techniques, and procedures within one skill area or process. Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps. Works within clearly defined SOPs and quality guidelines under general to limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Receive materials and components used in the manufacture of medical devices
• Transact inventory within the warehouse, out to the production floor, or to individual requestors
• Collect components into kits of material for work orders on the production lines
• Ship finished assemblies out to sterilization or to other facilities within the company
• Maintain an accurate physical count of materials within both the stockroom and the production floor
• Document all material transactions, both on paper and electronically, for traceability purposes

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, interpret, and comprehend documents written in English and perform basic math calculations
• Basic skills training in an analytical or scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling and management, logistics, manufacturing production)
• Zero to one year of warehouse experience or related experience and/or training
• Effective communication skills at a level co-workers and Team Lead/Supervisor can understand
• Ability to perform in a metrics-driven environment
• General computer skills

Physical demands

• Regularly exposed to walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, climbing, lifting, crouching, reaching, pulling, pushing, grasping, talking, hearing, twisting
• Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, feel, pick, or type, which can include repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, or fingers
• Job can require lifting and/or moving over 50 lbs
