About the Role
This is a 6-month contract position on W2 for a Medical Device Company in San Diego, CA. The role is entry-level and requires US Citizenship or Green Card status. The work schedule is 1st shift, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, with 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Sorts customer orders, picks products from inventory locations, verifies other associate product pulls, and prepares goods for final shipment in accordance with product temperature shipping requirements.
- Packs orders requiring dry ice refrigerant as directed.
- Processes daily outbound customer orders using automated carrier or manual shipping systems.
- Replenishes daily consumable shipping supplies (e.g., copier paper, foam boxes) in workstations, cold rooms, or warehouses.
- Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped, including Transfer Orders, Shipping Letters of Instructions, and Export Declarations.
- Picks up and delivers materials and components as directed; signs for received materials and verifies against packing slips.
- Applies product labeling for materials as required.
- Processes and delivers materials to appropriate personnel.
- Performs cycle counts and maintains inventory accuracy within company-set goals.
- Maintains component inventories and integrity of paper and electronic records without direct supervision.
- Notifies Supervisor of damaged or mixed materials.
- Participates in required training on regulatory issues and reports compliance questions/issues to management.
- Assists in preparation of shipping documentation for domestic shipments as directed.
- Communicates daily progress and reports problem situations to the Team Lead or Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Maintains shipping and warehouse areas in a clean and orderly manner.
- May operate a forklift and/or Company vehicle as directed.
- Maintains security programs for shipment processing.
- Provides accurate, timely, and courteous service to all customers.
- Follows Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures; participates in EH&S programs and notifies supervisors of hazardous conditions.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as designated by Supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma and 0-2 years’ experience in materials distribution (shipping/receiving/inventory control) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft systems such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and other software packages.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Skills
Familiarity with warehouse operations, inventory, SAP, or Microsoft Office is preferred and will set candidates apart.
Pay
$16–$20 per hour.
