About the Role
DSG is seeking a Waterworks Warehouse Lead in our Fargo, ND location. In this full time, hourly position, work is typically performed between the hours of 7am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, but may vary on occasion according to business needs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the assigned department to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Ensure tasks are distributed appropriately based on current demand and operational priorities.
- Ensure that the team meets daily productivity and quality goals.
- Enforce safety protocols within the warehouse, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
- Monitor the department’s performance, maintain productivity levels, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operations challenges within the department.
- Act as a point of contact for any operations issues that may arise and ensure they are addressed promptly.
- Work with other department leads, warehouse management, and branch management to coordinate workflow and address any cross-departmental needs or challenges.
- Recommend measures to improve department operating efficiencies, working conditions, and overall performance whenever possible.
- Train new employees within the department.
- Participate in hiring process for staff within department, interviewing and recommending applicants for hire.
- Ensure necessary tools and equipment are available and in good working condition to complete tasks.
- Report any equipment issues to Branch/Warehouse Manager.
- Provide courteous, prompt, and efficient service to customers.
- Lead by example in promoting safety-conscious behavior, encouraging others to report safety concerns, and ensuring that all accidents/incidents are documented and reported promptly.
- Ensure all company procedures and policies are being followed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Advanced product and warehouse knowledge that would normally be acquired in five or more years of applicable waterworks experience.
- Safety training on material handling and forklift driving.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis, and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
