Warehouse Lead & Quality Control

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Operations & QC Manager with the day-to-day seed processing and handling activities.
• Manage the processing of work orders to ensure accurate documentation and inventory tracking of all seed lots.
• Manage the plant and packaging activities of all seed receiving, treating, packaging and distribution.
• Assist with all seed conditioning activities.
• Manage all inventory audits and discards.
• Manage the shipping of customer orders based on customers' individual order requirements.
• Maintain seed lot integrity throughout the storage, processing, treatment, and shipping operations.
• Assist with collecting samples for any lab testing and quality assurance purposes.
• Assist as needed with building, equipment and tool maintenance.
• Assist as needed with onsite upkeep of facility grounds and infrastructure.
• Assist in the implementation and enforcement of workplace safety policies and best practices.
• Assist with ordering parts, tools, and operational supplies.
• Manage the warehouse and treating teams.
• Assist in managing seasonal and part-time labor.

Qualifications/Knowledge Needed

• Previous experience in seed production or related field, a BS in Agriculture or Crop Science is beneficial.
• Proficiency in gathering, recording, and reporting data.
• Ability to obtain a fumigation and treatment license.
• Ability to obtain a forklift license.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to obtain an ISTA seed certification.
• Strong work ethic focused on productivity, accuracy and timeliness.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in task execution.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Capable of working long hours/weekends during critical seasonal periods.

Benefits

• Salary: This position has an annual salary range of $55 - $65K. Actual pay is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while considering internal equity.
