About the role

Oversees the daily operations of the OTB. Compensation: $16 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a positive attitude and provides patrons with outstanding guest service, fast and friendly service.
  • Assumes fiscal responsibility for teller’s initial bankroll and final return accountability.
  • Completes all required cash draws or returns for tellers.
  • Assists with cash removal from self-serve tote machines.
  • Maintains proper inventory of currency/coin.
  • Completes daily balance report.
  • Uses tote file reports to assist with cash balancing.
  • Stores daily paperwork as required by the Virginia Racing Commission (VRC).
  • Updates daily operations logs.
  • Ensures proper televising of race programs and Dish channel selections for all facility televisions.
  • Works with other directorates to coordinate promotions/special race days.
  • Resolves guest service issues.
  • Assists tellers with problem solving and guest relations.
  • Assumes the responsibilities of teller position as needed based on business volume.
  • Maintains all office and service equipment.
  • Resolves problems within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action for problems beyond scope.
  • Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Cash handling experience strongly preferred.
  • Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid racing license.

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Pay

$16 per hour.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Required to sit/stand for extended periods of time.
  • Frequently required to sit or stand; walk; use hands to finger, reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • The work environment may vary in levels of crowds, noise, flashing lights, and smoke, depending on the assigned station and guest volume.
