Location: Jersey City, NJ

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support On-premises Exchange 2019 / SE and M365 workloads (EXO, SPO, Teams & OneDrive)
  • Manage Exchange 2019 High Availability (HA) and Database Availability Groups (DAG)
  • Configure and troubleshoot Hybrid Mail flow, Edge Servers, security, and Exchange patching
  • Ensure client connectivity and resolve related issues
  • Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell for automation and operational tasks
  • Administer Microsoft SharePoint Server (on-premise) environments, with a focus on SharePoint Server 2019
  • Support large, enterprise-scale SharePoint farms (single/multi-farm, multi-tier architecture)
  • Operate SharePoint in production environments with strict availability, security, and change management controls
  • Perform SharePoint farm administration, including Central Administration and service applications
  • Manage site collections, sites, lists, libraries, templates, and permissions (AD groups, SharePoint groups, inheritance, least privilege models)
  • Configure and troubleshoot User Profile Service (UPS), Managed Metadata Service, Search Service, Secure Store, State Service, and other core service applications
  • Resolve user access issues, permission corruption, profile resets, and access denied scenarios
  • Execute SharePoint Server 2019 patching (Cumulative Updates / Security Updates), including pre-patch validation, patch sequencing, and post-patch health checks
  • Coordinate patching with SQL Server and Windows Server updates and troubleshoot post-patch issues (search failures, timer jobs, service outages)
  • Automate tasks using SharePoint Management Shell / PowerShell, including farm health checks, bulk operations, service application administration, and scripted backup/restore/cleanup tasks
  • Write, modify, and maintain custom PowerShell scripts for operational automation
  • Perform farm-level, web application, and site collection backups and restores
  • Implement SQL-level and SharePoint native backup/restore strategies
  • Support disaster recovery (DR) testing and recovery activities and troubleshoot restore failures and content database issues
  • Administer IIS for SharePoint (application pools, bindings, certificates, authentication settings)
  • Manage Windows Server administration related to SharePoint farms
  • Support SQL Server used by SharePoint, including content databases, service application databases, and basic performance troubleshooting (locks, growth, capacity planning)
  • Coordinate with DBAs on maintenance and failovers
  • Analyze ULS logs, IIS logs, Event Viewer, and SQL errors for root cause analysis
  • Monitor and troubleshoot SharePoint incidents and outages, including performance degradation, search and crawl failures, authentication and access issues, and timer job/service failures
  • Utilize monitoring and alerting tools (APM, synthetic monitoring, log aggregation such as Splunk)
  • Implement and support SharePoint security baselines, hardening standards, permission reviews, audits, and remediation
  • Handle audit or compliance-driven requests related to SharePoint data access
  • Follow enterprise change control and incident management processes

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Exchange 2019 / 2016 On-premises and M365 (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint)
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft SharePoint Server (on-premise) environments, with a strong focus on SharePoint Server 2019
  • Proven experience supporting large, enterprise-scale SharePoint farms
  • Certification on M365 / Exchange / SharePoint (preferred)

Skills

  • Proficiency in scripting and PowerShell
  • Strong hands-on expertise in SharePoint farm administration, including Central Administration and service applications
  • Experience with SharePoint patching, maintenance, and upgrades
  • Experience with SharePoint backup, restore, and disaster recovery
  • Working knowledge of IIS, Windows Server, and SQL Server administration related to SharePoint
  • Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting SharePoint incidents and outages
  • Understanding of SharePoint security and compliance requirements

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SharePoint Server Subscription Edition or upgrade planning
  • Exposure to SharePoint Online / Hybrid environments
  • Experience supporting migration projects from SharePoint 2019 to SharePoint Online
  • Ability to document operational runbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
