VSI Line Operator I- 2nd Shift

About the role

The role involves operating and adjusting valve seat insert compacting presses and furnaces. Responsibilities also include assisting with the operation of furnaces, monitoring product specifications, and analyzing scrap and non-conforming parts.

Responsibilities

• Operate and adjust valve seat insert compacting presses
• Assist with the operation of valve seat insert steam and temper furnaces, cryo units, and oil impregnation units
• Perform visual and dimensional inspection at the compacting, sintering, and steam/temper operations
• Create a quality product by participating in training and using preventative measures to meet customer requirements and Tenneco standards
• Comply with legal and other requirements to avoid injury and/or ill health to oneself and others
• Monitor product for product specifications using inspection equipment and verify equipment settings
• Load, unload, and operate furnaces, monitor automation, and utilize statistical data to determine conforming product
• Analyze and monitor scrap and non-conforming parts to aid in determining cause of failure
• Distribute powder into proper powder hoppers and press lines
• Maintain equipment and perform appropriate TPMs
• Perform overtime as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• One year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules and regulations
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
• Knowledge of the metric system
• Highly motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Above average mechanical ability
