VSI Line Operator I- 3rd Shift

About the role

This role involves operating and adjusting compacting presses and furnaces, with responsibilities including visual and dimensional inspection, equipment monitoring, and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Create a quality product by participating in training and using preventative measures to meet customer and Tenneco standards.
• Comply with legal and safety requirements to avoid injury and maintain a safe working environment.
• Understand and adhere to facility's quality, environmental, health, and safety management systems.
• Read routers and production schedules to understand product specifications, including dimensions, tolerances, and quantities.
• Monitor product quality using inspection equipment like micrometers, digital indicators, and optical comparators.
• Adjust equipment settings and monitor furnace temperatures and atmospheres to ensure proper sintering processes.
• Load and unload containers, distribute powder, and perform TPM on equipment.
• Analyze scrap and non-conforming parts to identify causes of failures and improve processes.
• Perform overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Must complete Level 1 training, written, and practical assessments before moving to Level 2 positions.
• Must complete Level 1 training, written, and practical assessments or meet training requirements to train operators.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, with one year of related experience or equivalent training.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents, perform mathematical calculations, and apply reasoning skills.
• Highly motivated with mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands

• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Regular exposure to extreme heat.
• Use of safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and hearing protection.
