About the role

Enterprise Bank & Trust is seeking a VP, Senior Credit Analyst to underwrite all commercial loan transactions secured by real estate, accounts receivable, inventory, or fixed assets, as well as unsecured loan transactions at all levels of complexity. This role involves financial analysis with a focus on cash flow, collateral evaluation, and providing solid recommendations. You will also review financial information periodically, analyze borrowing base certificates, and assess accounts receivable and inventory reports.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite commercial loan transactions, including CRE, C&I, leveraged finance, and tax credits.
  • Clearly communicate with internal and external customers to produce needed outcomes and meet deadlines.
  • Complete follow-up analysis on financial statements and borrowing base history.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the financial industry, economy, market conditions, and competition.
  • Ensure credit-related follow-up items (e.g., financial statements, Borrowing Base Certificates, Covenant compliance certificates) are reflected in follow-up systems.
  • Provide support to lending officers in structuring and analyzing potential transactions.
  • Partner with lending units to oversee future loan maturities and current pipeline, ensuring deadlines are met and customer service remains high.
  • Actively participate in weekly loan committee meetings as a representative of the Credit Department.
  • Assist the Credit Manager in coaching and mentoring junior credit associates.
  • Accompany Relationship Managers on customer calls and participate in client meetings as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to underwrite transactions clearly and concisely.
  • Strong skills in analyzing financial statements, including cash flow, debt service, projection analysis, and trend analysis.
  • Highly developed analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to build trust across the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze cash flow, leverage, and other financial metrics.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously and prioritize appropriately.
  • Professional demeanor and a strong focus on customer service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial credit involving complex transactions.
  • Experience in asset-based lending, both in underwriting and monitoring, is required.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Bankway, Salesforce, Baker Hill-Statement Analyzer, Buker’s Tax Analysis, and Gmail.
