VP Commercial Lender

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of commercial banking clients by delivering responsive service, maintaining strong credit standards, and ensuring documentation remains accurate and current.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing relationships by introducing additional lending, treasury, and deposit solutions that deepen client engagement and increase revenue.
  • Pursue new commercial business through proactive outreach, networking, and consultative conversations with prospective customers in the local market.
  • Review portfolio performance regularly, address delinquency concerns early, and work through higher-risk credits with appropriate follow-up and oversight.
  • Partner with internal teams to structure financing solutions that align with client objectives, bank policies, and regulatory expectations.
  • Represent the bank at local business and community events to strengthen market visibility and build long-term business relationships.
  • Protect confidential customer and bank information while conducting all activities with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Maintain an active development plan through continuing education and ongoing enhancement of lending and credit expertise.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in commercial lending, business banking, or a closely related financial services role.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop commercial relationships, generate new business, and grow an assigned portfolio.
  • Knowledge of commercial credit analysis, including the ability to evaluate complex financial information and lending structures.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio management practices, loan administration standards, and regulatory considerations.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build credibility with business clients and internal partners.
  • Background in the banking industry with experience supporting commercial borrowers and cross-selling financial products.
  • Formal credit training or prior experience in credit analysis or collateral review is preferred.
