Think Company is looking for a VP of Business Development who wins through genuine relationships, market presence, and long-game trust-building.
About the role
This is a senior, high-agency role for a BD professional who's energized by real-world community engagement, market knowledge, and network work.
Responsibilities
- Build net-new client relationships through proactive outreach, community presence, and existing network.
- You're a hunter first, relationship-nurturer second.
- Activate and systematically work Think Company's existing warm contact database (150+ high-signal relationships) to surface repeat engagements, referrals, and re-entry opportunities.
- Show up in your market (events, dinners, lunches, and professional community gatherings) as an organic connector, not a booth rep.
- Run intentional, sustained, AI-assisted outreach on LinkedIn and via email targeting director-level and above professionals in Think's Ideal Customer Profile, building visibility through genuine contribution to the conversation.
- Manage the full deal process from relationship to close: prospecting, nurturing, writing proposals and statements of work, negotiations, and client signature.
- Grow accounts beyond the first engagement by partnering with delivery leads and strategic advisors to identify long-term opportunities within accounts you own.
- Apply AI-assisted prospecting tools, including those within HubSpot and ZoomInfo, Claude/Gemini/Chat GPT, and custom tools Think has developed, to identify, prioritize, and personalize outreach at scale.
Requirements
- A strong, established network in and beyond your metro market and the energy to work it; you're genuinely excited by in-person relationship building, not just tolerant of it.
- A deep background in one of the industries where Think Company has strong case studies and wants to grow: pharma/healthcare, financial services, telecom/utilities, or other regulated industries.
- A track record of closing consultative B2B engagements in professional services, design, technology, or staffing: you've done this before and you have the relationships and results to show for it.
- The ability to lead through influence rather than authority; you keep delivery teams focused on the longer-term account goal, bring in the right experts at the right moments, and treat sales as a team sport.
- Deep enough familiarity with digital product design and technology services to speak credibly with senior stakeholders: you don't need to be a practitioner, but you need to understand the work.
- Strong communication and presence, as you read the room, tailor your message, and know when to listen.
- Experience with CRM tools and data-driven pipeline management; experience with HubSpot or similar platforms.
