Volunteer: Website Redesign to Elevate a National Nonprofit’s Brand, Visibility, and Impact

This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections. We are seeking a skilled volunteer to partner with us on a strategic website redesign that reflects the scale, impact, and future vision of our organization. A Moment of Magic is a national nonprofit supporting the mental health of children facing medical challenges through play-based programming. As we continue to grow, our current website no longer fully reflects the depth of our work, our national footprint, or our positioning within the psychosocial care space. This project will focus on: Redesigning our website to better communicate our mission, programs, and impact Creating a clean, modern, and emotionally compelling user experience Structuring the site to better serve key audiences (donors, hospital partners, volunteers, and media) Improving conversion pathways for donations, partnerships, and involvement Elevating storytelling and visual presentation of our work We are open to building on our current platform or exploring a new one, depending on the volunteer’s recommendation. My goal is to create a high-impact, storytelling-driven website that positions A Moment of Magic as a leader in psychosocial support, increases visibility, and drives meaningful engagement from donors, partners, and the broader community. We are looking for a partner who is excited about storytelling, brand, and social impact, not just technical execution. Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will directly support expanding access to mental health and emotional support for medically vulnerable children. Our programs reduce isolation, foster connection, and support emotional healing for children and families navigating serious illness. A stronger website will allow us to: Reach more hospital and community partners Increase funding to sustain and expand free programming Recruit and engage more volunteers nationwide Share our model and thought leadership in the psychosocial care space Ultimately, this project will help us scale our impact and bring moments of joy, connection, and healing to more children who need it most. My team and I have prepared for this project by: Clearly identifying our target audiences and organizational goals for the website Gathering key materials including brand assets, program information, impact data, and visual content Aligning internally on our positioning and messaging direction Outlining the core pages and structure we envision for the site I will serve as the primary point of contact and will work closely with the volunteer throughout the project. We are highly responsive, collaborative, and committed to providing timely feedback and direction. We are prepared to implement the final product immediately and integrate it into our broader communications, fundraising, and partnership strategies.
