Volunteer: Website Design & Development for a New Nonprofit - Phase I

About the Opportunity

Center for Compassionate Awakenings (CCA) is a newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the compassionate exploration of human consciousness through channeling, education, storytelling, and contemplative practices—supporting personal transformation, collective healing, and awakening. We are seeking a skilled web designer to help us build CCA's website in Wix.

Project Scope

We have begun setting up the site and developing some of its content, but we need professional support with the overall website build—including structure, page design, navigation, visual presentation, user experience, and functionality.

Core Priorities (Phase 1)

We'd like to focus first on CCA's site structure and design, including:

• Home page
• About page
• Offerings page
• Contact and engagement pathways
• Basic donation acceptance functionality
• Mobile-friendly design and clear navigation

Future Phases (Out of Scope for This Project)

The events calendar and registration, film library, Shopify integration, support group pages, and other expanded content and functionality can follow in a later phase.

What We Need Help With

We need help determining how these core pieces should fit together and then designing and building a cohesive, accessible, welcoming website that makes it easy for visitors to understand CCA's work and find what they need.

Deliverable

By the end of this project, we would like a wireframe and site structure.

Collaboration Style

We are hoping to work collaboratively with a volunteer who can bring their web design experience and creativity to areas where we genuinely need guidance and support.

Success Criteria

Success would be having a warm, professional, easy-to-use digital home where people can understand CCA's mission, explore its offerings, make donations, and connect with its work.

Additional Considerations

As a new nonprofit, having someone generously share their web design expertise would make an enormous difference. We would also be grateful if the site could be built in a way that allows us to comfortably maintain and update it in Wix as CCA grows.
