Volunteer responsibilities may include assisting with the setup, serving, and cleanup of our lunch program, as well as providing support for activities and programs designed for adults age 50 and older. Volunteer hours: Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. We also have opportunities for individuals interested in teaching or leading a Special Interest class and sharing their skills, knowledge, or hobbies with members of the community. If you enjoy working with others and would like to make a positive impact in our community, we would love to have you join us! This is a volunteer position and does not offer any compensation. Essential Duties Contact: Christi Hamm, 480-474-5067, chamm@apachejunctionaz.gov Time Commitment: 3-5 hours per week, or as assigned Days of Work Week: Monday through Saturday Hours: Weekday evenings and Weekend days Age: 16 years of age and older Location: Various Parks and Recreation Facilities Minimum Qualifications Previous experience and knowledge of parks and recreation activities, and facilities. Volunteers eighteen (18) years of age or older who are accepted for the assignment will be required to successfully complete a criminal background report. Supplemental Information Knowledge Communicate clearly and concisely (both verbally and in writing)Knowledge of City and department procedures, policies, and guidelines Skills Convey a positive, friendly attitude, work pleasantly with staff, patrons, and other volunteers. Understand and follow written and verbal instructions, policies, and procedures; receive instruction from Parks and Rec staffWork congenially with staff, patrons, and other volunteersAbility to lift and move objects as needed This position is not eligible for benefits.
