Volunteer-Parks and Recreation
Parks and Recreation is seeking volunteers who are interested in supporting our Active Adult Program and Special Interest Programs.
About the role
Volunteer responsibilities may include assisting with the setup, serving, and cleanup of our lunch program, as well as providing support for activities and programs designed for adults age 50 and older.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup, serving, and cleanup of lunch program
- Provide support for activities and programs for adults age 50 and older
- Teach or lead a Special Interest class and share skills, knowledge, or hobbies with the community
Requirements
- Previous experience and knowledge of parks and recreation activities and facilities
- Must be 16 years of age and older
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older to be accepted for the assignment
- Must successfully complete a criminal background report
Qualifications
- Communicate clearly and concisely (both verbally and in writing)
- Understand and follow written and verbal instructions, policies, and procedures
- Work congenially with staff, patrons, and other volunteers
- Lift and move objects as needed
Skills
- Convey a positive, friendly attitude
- Work pleasantly with staff, patrons, and other volunteers
- Understand and follow written and verbal instructions, policies, and procedures
- Receive instruction from Parks and Rec staff

This is a volunteer position and does not offer any compensation.
Pay
$0.00 hourly
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Weekend days, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Volunteer hours vary based on availability and assignments.
